What Happened in Anantnag and why its concerning for Chenab region .

 'An enemy destruction shall be brought about even at the cost of great losses in men, material and wealth' - Chanakya

For any nation to grow we need three important factors which are strong political leadership, a robust economy, and strong military power, however, the former two factors are subject to how the global economy and the internal dynamics are working whereas the third factor which is military depends on its strong leadership and the quality of men it comprises of, historically we have seen how even without economic robustness and having a volatile political situation our men have fought wars and won them that's why during India's struggle for the freedom our political leaders kept going for the strategy of struggle-truce-struggle but it was only during 1946 when Royal Indian Navy mutiny took place that shook the entire British leadership and helped us in paving the way for freedom.

Now coming to an ongoing encounter happening in South Kashmir's Anantnag district ( kokernag area) where we lost three brave officers two from the Indian army and one from Jammu Kashmir police. After the encounter many people raised questions as to how we lost three officers, and why they were not protected by their squads and the answer is very clear they are not trained to stay back while their men are fighting the battles they are there to lead them and finish their job successfully, in this case, two of the officers were already assessing the situation and later COY CDR joined them and in between the fierce exchange of fire they got KIA due to extreme blood loss, it is important to note here that the area they were operating in has a dense forest on one side and ditch on the other side making it hard to have a clear sight and position to operate, drones were used but they also have their limitations.

Also, some said it was an intelligence failure, and the source double-crossed the army and JKP but if that was the case we would have been trapped and ambushed by them but that didn't happen, it was the army and police who had gone there to trap them. The other assumption was that because their commander  Riyaz Ahmed was killed on September 8 in Rawalkot (POK) they were sent to avenge that but why Kokernag and not any other region?  and why during a retaliation by the Indian army in Uri Sector led to the violation of ceasefire by Pakistani army making it very clear that it was a well-orchestrated plan by the Pak Army. Also, the successful event of the G-20 in Kashmir has led to a disturbance among the top brass of the Pak army and its leadership and the political turmoil in Pakistan further escalated that. The local support to foreign terrorists is going down post-2019 and the sudden ideological shift in Kashmir has further led to anger in the Pak army and its deep state, you might have observed that from the last six months, such incidents have been on the rise and it's all because of the strict security measures taken by the armed forces in the valley. Now the question is why they are shifting their operations to the other regions? It's because now they lack local support in the valley which is clearly evident from the events like tiranga rallies, candle marches, and the development of the pro-Indian sentiment.
The aggressive approach by the government to arrest and seize the properties has created a sense of fear among those who are willing to join terror outfits, family pressure, and government initiatives have also led to stopping them from joining terror organizations leading to frustration among those who were active but now lacking local support which led to the selective killings of Hindus in recent past, they are doing this to attract the international media and making them believe that Kashmir is still badly affected by the acts of terror.

Now the question is how will this affect the regions of Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban?

The answer is very simple these regions have since the 90s  provided them with natural hideouts and cover for a longer duration and the presence of armed forces compared to the Kashmir valley is less in these regions.

These mountains provide them with the dense forest and the deep caves where they can easily have their hideouts and stay for a longer time and operate it also provides them with the flexibility to operate in both regions easily that is they can lay attacks in the south Kashmir and later mobilize to kishtwar side via Kokernag Daskum and Sinthan pass and same is the case with Rajouri belt where they can infiltrate and move back to Shopian district making it easy for them to lay down attacks on Indian armed forces on both sides. The regions of Kishtwar Doda and Ramban during the 90s were the hotbed of terrorism and acted as the recruitment centers for ISI and their deep state, regions like Marwah, Warwan, and Dacchan (in Kishtwar district )which are in close proximity to  Anantnag district, more specifically the Kokernag region is easily accessible by a terrorist, and it takes days for the army to find the exact locations and hideouts because of the lack of proper inputs by locals of these locations and also there is no access of roads to these far-flung areas making it hard for the armed forces to mobilize their troops easily and sometimes it takes days for the long-range patrol units to reach the spot leading to the escape of terrorists (because their local sources alert them ) and sometimes it's hard to find their hideouts because the mountains are high, steep and have unforgiving terrain.
This is the hideout that was recently found in the high mountains of the Kishtwar region and you can clearly see how much space it provides to a terrorist and his associates, they can easily spend days with dry ration. The depth of the cave varies from 3-4ft to 10-15ft accommodating almost 5-6 terrorists easily.

Pakistan is also using the madrasas and radicalization to brainwash the young generation to develop a common Islamic identity, Maulvis belonging to the radical sects of Islam tries to indoctrinate children to follow the path of jihad. This has resulted in the fight between the army of believers and non-believers further leading to greater conflict. Although the government has worked relentlessly on this issue post article 370 abrogation it has still a lot to do regarding this.

The events are going to unfold as we will see the rise of India at the global level and the upcoming elections in 2024 are surely going to have challenges bigger than what has been predicted.

 I forgot to mention that when people ask why we lost three brave officers and what was the need for them to face the bullets, I would simply like to answer them with this ;
