 Nepal right now is boiling with a wave of protests. Streets are buzzing with young energy. Posters, chants, social media slogans—everywhere you look, you will hear about the so-called “Gen Z revolution.” Most newspapers and TV channels are calling it something very straightforward. The official line is that this protest erupted because the government banned certain apps. Apps that young people love and spend hours on—like TikTok—suddenly gone. That looked like the last straw that broke the camel’s back.But really, is this whole buzz just about apps? Or is that only the spark that ignited a much larger fire?
